Football
-Well the Colts won the big one with New England. That was good. Can anyone really say–with a straight face–that Peyton Manning isn’t the best quarterback ever? He’s a robot, people. I get the same feeling watching him play that I get when I see Tiger Woods dominate the PGA. No one else can do what he does.
-This week we’ll get our first experience with the “flex scheduling” when the Giants Bears game moves to Sunday night. I already love it. That’s a great matchup. Flex scheduling allows for the best games to get the best placement. I’m sure ESPN isn’t happy about it, since NBC is the one getting the benefits. But it’s good for the fans.
-Some random picks for this weekend: Colts over Bills (duh), Bears over Giants, Bengals over Chargers (they have that “backs against the wall” need to win this week), and just for fun I’ll take the Titans over the Ravens. Not because I really think they have an edge…but mostly because it’s fun to pick stupid upsets. And the Titans do have some inside knowledge into Steve McNair…and a long-time, franchise-wide hatred of the Ravens…and I’m still not convince the Ravens are as good as everyone thinks. Plus the crowd should be insane.
-I could go along with the whole T.O. phenomenon a lot more easily if he wasn’t dropping balls left and right this year. I’m not saying I wouldn’t still be sick of his antics….but they’d be a whole lot easier to take if he was able to actually play like the god he seems to consider himself to be. If he has “25 million reasons to not kill himself” as his publicist said…then doesn’t he similarly have 25 million reasons to actually catch balls thrown his way? I’ll answer that one for you…yes he does. Especially when he’s WIDE OPEN.
-I love this part of the season…every week sees games that really matter…games where a loss might mean the end of contending for the playoffs for one of the teams. Exciting stuff….and this season was plenty exciting already.

Sure, why not be the first:D, but sry i dont have 2 much smart to say!
, Just good luck and hope you get a YES!
JP,
I was on AOL, and I saw your story From GMA or the Today show which ever. After a quick googling, I found your website. I support you 100% and I hope it all works out for you!!!! My husband and I met at a superbowl party. With him being a huge Sports/Hockey buff I surprised him during our engagement with the announcement that we would marry on center ice at one of our local ice rinks. We didn’t make it to national news like the couple from Minnesota, but local news was good enough and just as exciting! Your girlfriend is a very lucky person to have someone with as much love and dedication as you do. This has given me something to look forward to while watching the “The Big Game” this year!!!!!
Kudos and best of luck,
Lauren
Good luck and Many Years of Happyness
I WASNT GOING TO WATCH THE SUPER BOWL BUT NOW I HAVE TWO REASONS TO WATCH IT…YOU AND YOUR BRIDE TO BE…..BEST OF EVERYTHING……I KNOW SHE WILL SAY ” YES “
Well… I for one will not call Peyton Manning one of the greatest QBs. He plays incredible well in the season but come crunch time in the postseason he chokes. Granted he lead a great comeback against NE but he still has to prove himself by winning the Super Bowl to even be considered great. He managed to throw six INTs in just three postseason games and was lucky to escape both the wildcard week-end as well as the divisional playoffs.
Peyton has a lot of records. In my humble opinion they are worthless unless he gets a big fat Super Bowl ring. He might be the next Dan Marino.
you and manning have one thing incommon, you’re both losers. go bears
I hope the bears win!!!!!!
Nice going Al. Personal insults huh.
Does that make you feel like a man?
